Pinyon (as a subcontractor to Stanley Consultants) evaluated baseline soil and groundwater conditions at the proposed site for the future Ground Based Strategic Deterrent Training Facility on the F.E. Warren Air Force Base. Working side-by-side with the geotechnical drillers, our team collected samples and interpreted the analytical results, which were potentially impacted from remediation projects located in surrounding areas of the base. Pinyon coordinated waste disposal and prepared the final report, including recommendations for construction-phase soil and groundwater management. During the baseline study, heavy-metal impacts were identified and sampling at an additional 34 locations is planned to delineate the horizontal and vertical extent of mercury in soil.
