Indreland Audubon Wetland Reserve

Bozeman, Montana

Pinyon is serving as the lead restoration, permitting, and mitigation banking consultant for the 46.7-acre Indreland Audubon Wetland Preserve, a proposed wetland mitigation bank currently advancing through restoration planning, permitting, and regulatory review. Working closely with the project sponsor, technical advisors, and regulatory agencies, Pinyon developed a restoration strategy designed to create and enhance emergent, scrub-shrub, and forested wetland habitats while generating measurable functional uplift under the Montana Wetland Assessment Method. The project incorporates nature-based restoration concepts inspired by beaver-influenced wetland systems and balances ecological objectives with long-term management and implementation considerations.

Additionally, Pinyon has led preparation of the mitigation bank prospectus and draft bank instrument and continues to coordinate with the US Army Corp of Engineers and the Interagency Review Team as the project advances through the mitigation banking approval process. This project demonstrates our team’s ability to guide a mitigation sponsor through the complex and often iterative process of evaluating mitigation opportunities, developing restoration concepts, coordinating with regulatory agencies, establishing crediting approaches, and advancing a mitigation project toward approval and implementation.
