Big Cliff Dam Abatement

Pinyon assisted the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Portland District with environmental compliance to reduce Total Dissolved Gas (TDG) levels below Big Cliff Dam on the North Santiam River. The project required a comprehensive Environmental Assessment under NEPA, focusing on hydrology, water quality, aquatic ecosystems, and endangered species like the Chinook salmon. Pinyon developed and submitted a Joint Permit Application (JPA) package for Oregon’s Section 401 Water Quality Certification and completed a Stream Function Assessment. Pinyon collaborated with Hamer Environmental on the Biological Assessment for the JPA package for the Oregon Department of State Lands. The deliverables included a Final EA and a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI).
