Pinyon is excited to congratulate Matt Santo on being named the new Biological Resources Technical Group Manager! Matt started at Pinyon as a biologist 16 years ago and spent his first two years figuring things out on long, hot days, out in the field. His first big bio projects were the RTD FasTracks Gold Line and North Metro projects, where he helped a team of consultants delineate wetlands and assess habitat. Over his years with Pinyon, Matt has had the opportunity to explore other avenues at Pinyon outside Biology. Matt has learned an incredible amount working with the NEPA group, has had some great Project Management training, and has even picked up some GIS skills. Throughout his tenure with Pinyon, his interests have always brought him back to the biological resources group.
“It seems like just yesterday (or ~15 years ago) that Matt was interviewing me,” said Pinyon’s Project Delivery Principal Brian Partington. “Now, a few years, and a few gray hairs later, I can’t even say how excited I am that Matt will become Pinyon’s new Group Manager for the Biological Resources Team. What has struck me most about Matt’s interest in the position is his commitment in working with the biology staff to grow their careers and being their advocate. I know Matt will do a great job with this team and am very excited to invite him into the PD leadership group!”
As he makes the transition to the Technical Group Manager position, Matt is looking forward to working with an already great team, armed with the variety of skills he’s developed at Pinyon over the years. Matt’s hope is to provide the support needed for the members of the Biology Team to grow, learn, and enjoy what they do: both on a professional level and a personal level. He’s excited to see his team develop into their future roles here at Pinyon and be able to provide the guidance and backing to reach those goals – so, please join us in congratulating Matt Santo!
