Determinations of Eligibility, Mojave National Preserve

Pinyon was contracted by the National Park Service to complete determinations of National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) eligibility of twelve sites at Mojave National Preserve in San Bernardino County, California. 

  • Conducted a selective pedestrian survey of the 2,200-acre Providence Ranch and eight mine sites, focusing on building complexes and sites, or features identified through aerial images, topographic maps, or available archival records.
  • Utilized the California Department of Parks and Recreation series forms for reporting.
  • Completed a report including a description of project methodology, general historic context and site history, and summary of recommendations and conclusions regarding the determination of eligibility to the NRHP.
